A project years in the making is coming to fruition through many talented hands and very large paws.
The New Haven Community Foundation is excited to partner with local businesses and individuals to bring this art project that will cultivate community pride and interest. We would like to place at least 36 individualized bulldogs throughout the community. The bulldogs will be designed by local artists and their sponsors. They will range in taste and style from fine art to grand funk.
The project is designed to showcase local talent and give recognition to area sponsors. We will have citywide events to highlight the resulting creative works. After public display, the artworks will be delivered to the sponsors to display at their desired location.
The project will be the city’s first public art project involving many members of the community. We would like you to partner with us and bring this unique project to our community. If you would like to be involved, we would love to speak to you about how you would be interested in participating. We intend on placing the majority of the bulldogs in June of 2019!
How can you adopt a furry friend?
Large Bulldog – Cost $2,500.00 (48″ x 72″x 33″) includes ownership of the bulldog fully painted by a local artist, clear coating
for protection, a concrete base for mounting, mounting hardware, placement on the base, a plaque noting sponsor and artist,
inclusion on the website and calendar. There can be up to 2 square feet used as logo space on the bulldog.Small Bulldogs -Cost $900.00 (17″ x 27″ x 13″) includes ownership of the bulldog fully painted by a local artist, clear coating for protection, a concrete base for mounting, mounting hardware, placement on the base, a plaque noting sponsor and artist and inclusion on the website. There can be up to 1 square foot used for logo space on the small bulldogs.
Sponsors will have the opportunity to place an appropriately themed bulldog on approved private or public property. Artists and Sponsors will be included on a plaque placed near the bulldog. We have a number of local artists committed to working with sponsors and painting the bulldogs. The first concepts of the artists will be revealed at the New Haven Chamber of Commerce Dinner on November 8th, 2018. Sponsors may select an available artist or provide their own artist, with some guidelines and oversight provided by the New Haven Community Foundation artist committee.
